One day I started my Microsoft Vista machine and find out that my Aero effect gone. Then I tried to enable it on my Personalize. What happen is that I can’t open it up. Then I tried to start my Control Panel, and the same problem occur: it won’t open up. After several research on Microsoft Knowledgebase I finally found out that there is a “bug” which not yet been fixed.
- Once you downloaded it, go to Start > Run > type “services.msc”
- When AUC popup, just click Continue
- Find SL UI Notification and stop it.
- Find Software Licensing and stop it (Regardless if there is a message about ReadyBoost)
- Then start back Software Liensing, then SL UI Notification.
- Install the downloaded hotfix (Windows6.0-KB929637-v2-x86)
- Restart your machine
It will resolved the problem. However there is also chances that this won’t fixed the problem, then that case continue reading.
I often travel back and forth almost every week. The dilemma is that sometimes I want to listen to certain song, just to find out that I don’t have it in my iPod. Yet, I know I have that song somewhere in my other computer at my other house. My computer always on 24/7, so I don’t mind if there is a service that can allows me to stream my music online.
Worry no more. If you got similar dilemma as I am, then you need JukeFly. Its a free service, created by 2 guys from San Jose, California. What you need to do is register, install a very (extremely) small server to your always on computer. Login, and add song to be stream. That’s it!
Let say you are away from home and want to listen to your song. Just login to http://www.jukefly.com, then you’ll see all your song there, ready to be play. No installation or whatsoever. I’ve been using it for a while now, and so far don’t have any problem, lag, or whatsoever.
I just found out an interesting post called “The Nerd Handbook”. Nerd world is a mysterious and alien place for normal people. Well, this article explains to nerds’ loved ones how the geek thinks, the importance of the nerd’s “Cave” and our chase for “The High” that comes from solving problems, our finicky attention span and our insatiable appetite for information. If you’re a nerd, print this out and give it to your non-nerd spouse to teach ’em “advanced nerd tweakage.”
