Facebook + Tab + WordPress

So, I want to create a new Facebook Tab App to one of my supported Facebook Page. I know there are a lot of tutorials out there, but I have my own unique requirements.

  • Create Facebook Tab App that point to external self-hosting page/site.
  • Edit and manage the pointed self-hosting page/site manually without editing through Facebook.
  • Self-hosting page/site is using WordPress.

What we/you need are:

  • Facebook Page, and you are the Admin of that Page.
  • Facebook App that you need to create via Facebook Developer.
  • Self-hosted site through WordPress.

UnBrick your Linksys router – WRT54GS v7

Why my router got brick?

Alot. Usually it because of power-surge that cause the chip to corrupt your router’s boot-loader. Some people make use of this method to Unbrick the router by shorten the 16 pin of the chip. I personally dont like the trouble of opening my router, so I dont recommend this method.

Some other reason that lead your router to BRICK is… of course firmware upgrade. I have re-written and merge Part 1 and Part 2 of my tutorial to this page. Anyway let get started.

For your router to get brick, the chances are you have an itchy hand to flash the firmware or at least you know how to play around with command prompt. Windows Mobile 6.5

I guess everyone knows I purchased SonyEricsson Xperia X1 last year. But as usual I still in doubt, until I brought it overseas. Its very very useful. Everything are in there… video call, gps, camera, video recorder, media player, internet,… everything work as out of the box… I don’t want to give any bias opinion so you can have a  read about the review here http://blog.se-nse.net/reviews/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-review/

But this post is not about Xperia. Its about  Windows Mobile 6.5. Before I start, I just want to let you know that there are 4 parts of the story here. I also not going to give you download link or specific steps on how to do it, since I don’t know whether its legal or not. But, buzz me and I’ll let you know where to go.

The parts are:

  1. Don’t use SonyEricsson Update Services yet.
  2. Upgrade to Xperia R2A Firmware.
  3. Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5.
  4. Revert back to Windows Mobile 6.1.

Screenlets for Ubuntu

Another thing that I want to see on my Ubuntu is the graphics and the wobbly thingy and the cube thingy (that’s what I saw on Valiant laptop)… I found out it is screenlets. Been searching hi and lo to find the repositories and I get the following:

Open Synaptic, go to Settings > Repositories > Third-party software, click Add and paste:
deb http://hendrik.kaju.pri.ee/ubuntu gutsy screenlets

then get the key using terminal client

wget http://hendrik.kaju.pri.ee/ubuntu/F854AFD7.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add – && sudo apt-get update

and it happened that ERROR 404: Not found…

Frustration here! then found another one something like above from

deb http://tuxfamily.download.org/ubuntu gutsy screenlets

What happen again??? Same thing ERROR 404. GOSH!

Finally, I found the valid repositories and of course able to install from the following:
Open you Synaptic Package Manager:  Settings>Repositories>Third-Party Software>Add
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gilir/ubuntu gutsy main universe

Click the Add Source button and Close to go back to your Synaptic Package Manager Window. Then click on the Reload button.

Search "screenlets" and right click to mark for installation then click Apply button. By doing this, this will install screenlets. Once it is done, you can access it through System > Preferences > Screenlets

Hope all the above would help!
