Well hello everyone. Do you familiar with any Online TV? Well in this post I’m going to show you a quick info on some of the famous players & websites that I have been using for the past few months – some more than a year. Please bear in mind that some of the player/websites that I’m using is still in beta and some is still by invitation only. Without further due, let me introduce you Joost, Babelgum, VeohTV, TVUPlayer, OpenHulu/Hulu, Tioti, TED, TVTonic, MyPodder, and Miro.

Joost

Joost provide variety of BIG tv channel like Discovery, Sci-Fi, etc. The nice thing about Joost is that all the episode they provide is LEGAL  and there’re just too many things to watch. I was invited during the development and beta testing of Joost. Joost used to be one of my fav, but ever since they open it to public the service need to have ALOT of juice to run it. Not only the apps is not that responsive, it also have a hiccup/lag while watching the channel. Its a turn off for me at the moment. Read more about my review here (http://blog.rim3y.net/zero/?p=86)

Babelgum

Yet another streaming apps just like Joost is Babelgum. I haven’t post anything about it yet since I’m very busy at the time of the testing. I did use it once in a while. Unlike Joost, Babelgum have only just-ok channel. Its not as good as Joost but, the video quality is nice enough for you to see on screen – 10% better I think. Navigation and controller also simple, unlike Joost. But then again, its not that responsive as Joost. So have it a try here (http://www.babelgum.com) and judge for yourself.

Hulu/OpenHulu

Another way of viewing video is using webpage. Welcome to Hulu! Hulu let you watch your favourite TV series online. I’m surprise with the quality they deliver. Of course they still in beta and by invitation only. I wonder how will be the service when it open its door to the public? Will it be just what I experienced with Joost? Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/)

Oh yea, if you want to access Hulu but nobody invite you; then you can go to OpenHulu instead, no registration required. OpenHulu (http://openhulu.com/)

Tioti

Another web-based stuff is Tioti. Its not really a streaming site but it can help you find out about your favourite TV series. Well enough said, you can read more about my review here (http://blog.rim3y.net/zero/?p=329) or go to Tioti (http://www.tioti.com/)

TED

Are we still talking about TV Series? Oh well, then you can try TED (stand for Torrent Episode Downloader). What is does is that: add from its list of shows (or add a customise show if you want), schedule a download (or download right away), then watch it. By the way TED is not a player, its just a downloader. Give it a try here (http://www.ted.nu/)

TVUPlayer

Next I want to share with you is TVUPlayer. This player allows you to view any international TV station. Neat huh! Even though they only provide with a few channels, but it fast and the application is also very responsive. Video quality is low when it comes to fullscreen, but hey, they deliver what they should deliver and I like it. ALOT. TVUPlayer (http://www.tvunetworks.com/)

VeohTV

OHHHHHH BBBBOOOOOYYYYY! Ever since I post the article about VeohTV, people were screaming at me so that they can have access to it. Not to mention at my e-mail inbox. Back then there’s only Veoh. They have VeohTV which is still in beta and by invitation only. VeohTV has been around with Joost if I’m not mistaken, and it still my favourite online player around. LOVE IT! As usual, I always blog about the stuff I like, so have a read here (http://blog.rim3y.net/zero/?p=65) or go to VeohTV here (http://www.veoh.com/veohTV/getStarted.html)

TVTonic

And yet there’s another both web-based and online player. Well its not really an online player, because it needs Windows Media Center and plug into it as plugin. You can also view it using Internet Explorer if you don’t have any Windows Media Center. Unlike the rest of player/website I mention, TVTonic make use of Video RSS. You choose your interested category and RSS channel and download the video. Its more like Video Podcast. Have it a try here (http://www.tvtonic.com/)

MyPodder/AutoPodder

Another RRS based program is MyPodder. MyPodder is not a player but a  downloader. The concept is like TED, but it only download video just like TVTonic does. Oh yea, you don’t have to install MyPodder. You can put it inside your thumb drive and bring it anywhere you like. Plug it in and you are ready to download. You want to automaticcally download your video just like TED? No problem, you can choose AutoPodder instead. For more info you can go to Podcast Ready (http://www.podcastready.com/)

Miro

Another kids on the block is Miro. They claim that they are better than Joost. Well… I’m not sure if I agree with that. Joost have its own pros and cons, and Miro have it pros and cons. They do claim to have HD video as well. I did tried it, and… its not really that HD that I was looking for, its still blurry. The application is also not that stable and a little bit slugish sometimes not responsive. But do I like it? Oh HELL YEA! I love it! They’re still in beta at the moment so of course I expect some bug etc. Miro is a video RSS downloader as well, but it also allows you to search other video site and save it, just liike VeohTV. The only different about Miro compare to VeohTV is that the download speed is faster. You can have a try here (http://www.getmiro.com/)

Based on my experience I like:

TVUPlayer – because I can watch international TV station easily.
TED – just in case I want to watch that tv series episode.
VeohTV & Miro – I can’t choose, since Veoh allows me to watch stream video and Miro gives me faster download speed.
MyPodder – I might be travelling so I want to put my downloader to my thumbdrive for easy downloading.

Thats it folks. If you have any more interesting stuff out there please don’t hesitate to contact us or email me personally from the contact page.
